How Zephyr works

Money for land.
Bloom together.

Zephyr is a funding network for postcapitalist land projects, solar communes, food forests, earthen housing, seed libraries, water commons. We combine direct community donations with a monthly subscription pool governed by the people who participate most.

Direct donations
Give directly to any project in the directory, anytime. Money goes straight to that project, no waiting for a round to close, no governance involved. Think of it like tipping a cause you believe in.
The monthly pool
A shared funding pool fed by member subscriptions. It grows all month as new people join. At the end of each month, the top-voted projects receive the bulk of it, with the winner taking the largest share.
1
The pool opens
Each month a new funding round opens. The pool starts from the previous month's subscriptions and grows in real time as new members join or donors add to it. You can watch it grow on the DAO screen.
2
Members vote on proposals
Projects submit proposals requesting a specific amount for a specific purpose. Any member can vote. Your voting weight grows with your reputation, time in the network, contributions made, endorsements received. Subscribers get more weight than one-off visitors.
3
Top three projects share the pool
At month's end, the pool is distributed by vote rank. 1st place takes 60%, 2nd takes 25%, 3rd takes 15%. No project walks away empty if they placed in the top three. Runners-up carry momentum into the next round.
4
Winners step back for a while
Projects that receive pool funding leave the running for a period proportional to what they received, giving other projects room to rise. They can still receive direct donations throughout, and return to future rounds with an established track record.

Losing a round isn't starting over. Projects that place but don't win carry accumulated momentum into the next month, a head start in votes that compounds over time. A project that keeps placing second is building unstoppable community signal.

Growing reputation
Your reputation grows through real participation, backing projects, voting in rounds, getting endorsed by others in the network. It can't be bought, sold, or transferred. The longer you're here and the more you contribute, the more your voice counts.
Subscriber weight
Monthly subscribers get higher base voting weight than one-off visitors. Your subscription is the commitment that earns you a real say in where the pool goes each month. Higher tiers mean more weight and more governance access.

Bonafide status requires annual renewal confirming governance is active, finances are current, and ownership structure is unchanged.
!
Removal
Any network member can file a formal concern. If a project materially changes, Bonafide status is removed. The removal is documented publicly. Projects may appeal.
